I wanted to share I have lost 25lbs in about 3 months! I have PCOS, which is a hormonal imbalance, and it has caused me to have weight issues. I always felt powerless to it. I felt I had to work out extra hard for barely any results. I know many out there feel stuck when it comes to their weight and I was hoping my journey could help others.
I decided to do a low carb low sugar diet with intermittent fasting. I would fast 16-22 hours depending. I started by cutting out all breads and sweets. Then it slowly went into a keto diet. Followed by the carnivore diet. Now I am more like a ketovore, a mixture of both diets (except on cheat days). I found these diets really helped me see what foods were causing me issues. I discovered bread gives me headaches, which has been so helpful!
I lost 11lbs in the first week from stopping the carbs and sugar. Apparently our bodies hold on to water to process carbs, had no idea! Then after that I continually lost as long as I stayed on course. Sometimes my body lost more eating two low carb meals a day, other times only one meal a day helped me to lose weight. I definitely played with it. I also did not exercise much at all. Normal house chores mostly with some strolls. Exercise was not a part of my weight loss however I’m sure it would of helped me lose even faster if I did partake.
There were definitely periods since late April where I was being negligent and eating horribly. I did see the scale go up, but jumping back on the diet made those pounds fall off fast. It also helped me to not be filled with guilt after my bad eating because it was an easy fix.
I feel so blessed to be a healthier weight now! My clothes fit so much better and my PCOS has regulated. My body is overall so much happier! I have a few more pounds until my goal weight but I am still ecstatic!
